Teach at the region’s only Suzuki school
Headquartered in Tallahassee, Florida, the North Florida Suzuki School provides quality music lessons to students ages 3-18 based on the educational philosophy of Shinichi Suzuki. We require all instructors to be registered and active members of the Suzuki Association of the Americas and provide financial assistance for continued training and professional development.
Our studio is conveniently located just ten minutes from downtown and the Florida State University College of Music and ten minutes from the Southwood neighborhood. Tallahassee is nestled on the border of the Apalachicola National Forest in Florida’s panhandle and has ample opportunities for outdoor activities at our award-winning parks, day trips to the Emerald Coast beaches, and weekend trips to Orlando area attractions.
Guitar Instructor
Duties
Teach private and group guitar lessons to students ages 3-18
Help coordinate recitals and other events
Recruit new students/parents to the Suzuki program
Assist with main office duties (scheduling, email correspondence, etc.)
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in music/music education/performance
Registered Suzuki training through Book 1 preferred with a commitment to continue training and professional development with the SAA
A minimum of 1 year previous teaching experience.
A video teaching sample will be requested after initial resume reviews.
Additional Details
Starting salary of $30,000-$33,000
Flexible and negotiable schedule- typically four afternoons/evenings of teaching per week plus occasional weekend commitments
